Each year, the Craven Community Concert Band proudly awards a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school student who is also a dedicated member of our ensemble. This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional musical talent, leadership, and a commitment to furthering their education.
📌 Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:
Be a current high school student and active member of the Craven Community Concert Band for at least two years.
Be in good standing with their high school band program.
Demonstrate strong communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude within both school and community band settings.
Show the aptitude and passion needed to pursue music at the college level.
Plan to attend an accredited college or university following high school graduation.
📝 How to Apply
Interested students must submit:
A short (approximately half-page) personal letter explaining why they would like to be considered for the scholarship. The letter may highlight experiences in the CCC Band, high school band achievements, and future goals in music or education.
A letter of recommendation from the student’s high school band director, speaking to the applicant’s character, musicianship, and potential.
Both letters are due in October.
