Craven Community Concert Band Student Scholarship

Supporting the next generation of musicians.

Each year, the Craven Community Concert Band awards a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school student who is also an active member of the ensemble.

The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate strong musicianship, leadership, a positive contribution to the band community, and a commitment to continuing their education.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be a current high school student.

• Have been an active member of the Craven Community Concert Band for at least two years.

• Be in good standing with their high school band program.

• Demonstrate strong communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.

• Show musical aptitude and a genuine interest in continuing their musical development.

• Plan to attend an accredited college or university after high school graduation.

How to Apply

Applicants should submit:

1. Personal Letter
A brief letter, approximately one-half page, explaining why they would like to be considered for the scholarship. Students may discuss their experiences in CCCB, high school band accomplishments, musical interests, and future educational goals.

2. Band Director Recommendation
A letter of recommendation from the student’s high school band director addressing the applicant’s character, musicianship, participation, and potential.

Application Deadline

Both letters must be submitted in October.

I’d make that last line visually prominent in Google Sites, maybe with a shaded section or large bold text.

One thing I’d consider changing, though: if you know the actual deadline each year, a specific date will look more professional than just “in October,” for example:
